Questions before installation.
Straightforward answers help you compare systems and understand what should be confirmed before work begins.

Questions before installation
01Which solution is right for my balcony?
The answer depends on the risk you want to reduce. Fine mesh netting is commonly considered for children, pets and bird exclusion, while invisible grills offer a more rigid cable barrier and a more open visual appearance. A site visit should assess the users, opening size, fixing surfaces and building rules.
02What information will be included in my quotation?
A useful quote identifies the protected area, measurements, proposed material, mesh or cable specification, fixing method, colour, installation scope, price, expected schedule and written warranty conditions.
03Can the system be removed and reinstalled?
Some netting systems can be removed for painting or maintenance and replaced if the material and fittings remain suitable. Do not cut or detach a safety system yourself; ask the installer to inspect it first.
04How should safety nets be maintained?
Inspect the mesh, perimeter rope, knots and anchors periodically and after building work or severe weather. Keep sharp objects and heat sources away. Cleaning instructions depend on the material and should be included at handover.
05Does a safety net replace supervision?
No. A net is an additional protective barrier, not a substitute for adult supervision, responsible balcony use, compliant railings or building-safety requirements.
06What should I ask about invisible grills?
Ask for the stainless-steel grade, cable construction and diameter, coating, cable spacing, frame profile, fastener specification, maintenance instructions and written warranty. Any strength claim should be supported by supplier documentation.
